The mission is hope that the social justice center can use the power of fairness and justice to bring love and help to people in need and to a harmonious society to progress together. The design of this project is considered from the perspective of the environmental system. The combination of the envelope with a large amount of glass and steel allows the overall natural light and air circulation into and out of the whole building, while the combination of semi-solid steel forms gives more private space and stores indoor temperature and light for each floor, providing a relatively balanced state to the interior. Each floor has a large amount of glass and ventilation space, so indoor light and air circulation form an excellent cycle. Each floor has enough light and natural wind to enter, so the indoor environment has quality assurance.

Concept: Diamond
Identifying problems, solving them, and finding solutions can be considered from different perspectives. In today’s society, achieving absolute fairness and justice in everything is impossible, and because of this, the existence of social justice center is meaningful. In this diverse society, the existence of how to be inclusive and maintain justice becomes more precious. The site is located in Chinatown. Based on the site analysis, the road path is irregular and clusters in different directions, which came up with the design idea of cluster begin with the massing.

The element shape of the diamond used in envelope is because “Diamonds” are associated with strength, love and health. As we have uncovered, throughout history, diamonds have been worn by leaders or power figures to symbolize strength and invincibility. Diamonds are also associated with good health and represent long life and good heart health; that is also a symbol of the hope that the social justice center can use the power of fairness and justice to bring love and help to people in need and to a harmonious society to progress together.

The CLT wood structure ceiling, the open workplace, and the rest area along the diamond-shaped large glass windows next to the comfort of the working environment gave the active people a good and cozy working environment.

The large meeting room can look at the outdoor scenery through the large floor-to-ceiling windows, with excellent lighting and ventilation, making the space in the meeting room brighter and more transparent.
