Meghan and Ben Eberly needed a permanent home for a mock bar: a contemporary American bar with local and seasonal regulations in a completely untechnical environment. The design task and goal is to explore the value of technology-free environments to enhance human interaction. Understand the restaurant/bar experience, enhance the user experience through design, and incorporate some graphic design related to the brand in the interior design. This project is a team collaborate work, interior design team collaborates with the graphic team.
Client & Users

Megan and Ben Eberly are a young, married couple. They hope to open a tech-free restaurant/bar in Savannah, Georgia, serving their best food and baked goods. The couple started with a booth at Forsyth’s Farmers Market, creating delicious pretzels, baked goods, and drinks for visitors to enjoy.

Concept
No Signal

Using the road less traveled this space will transport you into a location with no signal. The design of this space will transport you to a few different rooms that are inspired by the nature and beauty of our national parks. By entering these inspired rooms you’ll be invited to put your phone down and connect with the people beside you, the food in front of you and the environment around you. Analog public house is a space where all of your senses are in harmony and you forget about the technological world outside of the four walls that are surrounding you.

YARD

There is a spacious yard on the west side of the restaurant, which is usually used to hold some evening events. For example open mic, game, or some seasonal events. The restaurant can reach the yard through a long ADA ramp which is also the secondary entrance of the entire restaurant. The yard includes the game/crafts area, lounge area, and bonfire pit, which is especially suitable for holding events at night. Customers can not only enjoy the food in the restaurant, and spend time with family and friends, but also participate in some activities in the yard and enjoy a good night time.

YELOOWSTONE DINING

Yellowstone dining is the first place to dine at the entrance of the restaurant. Yellowstone dining faces the floor-to-ceiling windows. Customers can enjoy the outside scenery while dining. The interior uses dark brown wood as the material for the dining table, with green leather seats, dark green ceilings with striped patterned walls, and green plant embellishment, creating a feeling close to the natural forest.

G.N.P BAR

The G.N.P Bar is located in the central part of the restaurant on the first floor and is a semi-open bar area. The “U” shaped bar can accommodate 10 people. The tone of G.N.P Bar adopts blue as the main color. The dark blue wall, bar top, and barstool, combined with the vintage wine cabinet and lamps, all demonstrate a very relaxing and comfortable bar atmosphere.

GREAK LAKES DINING

Great lakes dining is the innermost dining area on the first floor. The entire interior combines the atmosphere and feeling of Michigan lake. The interior uses wallpapers close to the great lakes in the theme of the national park, with sky blue booths and glass tabletops, giving customers a feeling as if they are in the great lakes, and the oars on the wall decorate this feeling as well.

GOLD RUSH ROOM

The gold rush room is a stage performance place on the second floor for customers to entertain. The indoor theme is the gold rush in the national park. The overall color is mainly brown, which contains the stage and the seats that guests use to watch and appreciate the show, and the gold rush room also connects the grand canyon room.

GRAND CANYON ROOM

The Grand canyon room is the events room on the second floor. It is usually used to hold some indoor events. This is a semi-open room and next is the gold rush room. Customers can also watch the performance while participating in the activity. There is a small bar at the entrance, and the wall uses the wallpaper of the Grand Canyon, combined with a brown tone of furniture and brown ceiling. The entire interior style is based on the Grand Canyon, creating a feeling of being in the Grand Canyon for customers.
